Whoa! Events!
Whoa! It’s been a while since I’ve sat down to pay attention to this fruity part of cyberspace. I’ve been exceedingly busy working on design for the Fall 2009 catalog for Tightrope Books, preparing GULCH for print, getting the Flying Walrus site designed, and starting the last year of my BA, during which I’m writing that thesis I like to talk about so much! Things have been crazy! Curran and I handed off the typset pdf for GULCH a few days ago, I hand off my last two typeset pdfs (for Carla Drysdale’s Little Venus and Phoebe Tsang’s Contents of a Mermaid’s Purse) tomorrow, and then I can rest get to work on preparing the first part of my thesis and get on my mound of readings! Ah!
Another cool development – The next few months are full of SB events and non-SB events:
September 22nd: The first installment of The Monthly Eggplant – I’ll be reading with Alex Armstrong, James Papoutsis and Richard Rosenbaum at Zoots Cafe on Dundas West.
September 29th: The Steel Bananas One Year Anniversary Party at Sneaky Dee’s – with The Darcys, Jane’s Party, Hemingway and The Body Electric
October 6th: SPAY classes begin as part of the Rochdale Exhibit at the University of Toronto Art Gallery – Yours truly will be lecturing with Joshua Moore, Alex McLaren, and Alex Armstrong (more dates TBA)
October 19th: The York University Launch of GULCH – including readers from YorkU
November 13th: The official Tightrope Books Launch of GULCH @ Rolly’s Garage (Booze and discounted books? HELL YEAH!)
Hopefully you’ll all come out to support hobo art bums like me!
