An essay by John G. Hanhardt titled Interrogating the Filmic Apparatus: Notes on 3rd Degree by Paul Sharits. This is footage taken during the filming of 3rd Degree when the film was improperly loaded into the camera. It’s really weird because it’s technically made footage, but it’s simultaneously found footage because the mistake was unintentional. Quite bizarre. The whole idea of the made found piece of art really tickles me.
