EDMONTON FOLK MUSIC FESTIVAL

Wow. When we decided to take SB on the road, and I booked my plane ticket to Edmonton, I really didn’t know the city would enthrall me as much as it did. Five days of art galleries, hippies, blues, bluegrass, world music, and partying with Curran, Patrick and Ted, followed by a couple of days camping in Jasper National Park at the Rocky Mountains really did something to my soul (and lungs, since the air was so dry and delicious).

This month’s issue of Steel Bananas (which we’re plugging away at as I waste time blogging) is all about our experience in Edmonton, including Folk Fest and the Art Gallery of Alberta’s 2010 Biennial of Contemporary Art. Below are a few personal pictures from our stay in Alberta, with more to come when I have time to develop my rolls of film. Pardon the pink-ness, it seems as though the sun shone brighter over Alberta for the entirety of our stay.
